More Than A Feeling | Oil on Wood Panel | 12" x 15" x 2" | 2010...

Cathie and Edel did a rockin' job of putting together a show at La Luz de Jesus during ICON 6, The Illustration Conference. Here is the piece that I made for the show. I hope that you can all make it to the opening.

I love this, Dick. I hope YOU can make it to the opening! Love the Boston too, nice one!...p.s.it's really cool to see you paint and see your brushwork - it's fantastic.

Nice one Dick! I've always been partial to this cover version:

Really nice painting, Richard. Did you do any studies for this or just dive in?

Hey, Thanks everybody for commenting. I have to say that I am a sucker for sappy 70's classic rock songs!. Matt, liked it but not sappy enough. Kyle, I do this figure thing over and over so I just dive in.

love this painting Richard...such great subtle color.

Gorgeous. Especially love the little background elements that remind me of playing cards. Agreed with Adam also- love seeing your brushwork. I think about painting all the time but haven't dragged out the paints in over a year. This is inspiring.

Really nice painting for the show.

Bill, I am not much of a colorist but I added burnt umber to all of the colors and that knocked them back a bit. Steve, Come on man, drag the paints out and go for it. I run a very clean studio, very little paint out and no solvents and 1 or 2 brushes, quick clean-up at the end of the day, keep it simple and have fun. Mike, I appreciate that, thanks.

Richard. Just coming over to your side of Drawger. I like your comment back to Steve above, "keep it simple and have fun". I need a daily reminder of that. Wonderful painting here. Enjoy the opening.
