"Spring Grasshopper" | 12x15" | Monotype on paper...
has finally sprung and not a moment too soon. This winter was one heck of a roller coaster ride living in the foothills of the Sierra. Lake Tahoe and Truckee received record breaking snow fall up to 50 ft in some areas and these storms produced some pretty great snow storms down here every week it seemed. Snow, several major power outages and snapped trees and piles of broken limbs litter our yard. The other day I saw a bunch of Spring Grasshoppers, heard frogs chirping and mosquitos floated around. Spring, bring it! mosquitos and all.
Our yard. Everywhere you look are piles of branches. Time for yard work!...

Neat piece. The simplicity and texture are feeling good.

Nothing like spring, lots to do, but in a good way. Love that grasshopper, beautiful work.

Good grasshopper, Grasshopper. ;-) Lots of limbs and sticks to pick up here too. Chain saws and wood chippers are always in the background along with the manically amorous songbirds

Hey folks, thank you so much for the kind comments. We have a tree completely broken in half but after a friend cut off the tip of his finger a few weeks ago with his chain saw I have thought twice about getting my old saw tuned up. Still, plenty to do without running a chain saw.
