When I was a younger artist I looked with admiration to the few commercial artists with some stylistic range that could handle the serious and the comical in narrative material. Now closing in on 30 years of image making I have become one of those artists and,,, I like it that way. The mental and motor skills involved in solving technology, editorial, gallery work or teaching mixes it up enough for me to make it fun and not the continuous and never ending 9-5 routine. Here are a few recent pieces.

The Brown Alumni piece is real nice- Loise Brooks meets Lady Gaga.
You continue to knock them out of the park for Lynda.com. Love the colors and compositions.
Your "Couples" series keeps producing dreamy beauts.
The children's story image is very charming. How many did you have to do for the fable?
Richard Downs November 3, 2011
Thank you, Victor. I Really appreciate the nice comments. The fable is one big double page spread with the story printed over the dark walls of the water well and the headline in the sky.

"Dust" rocks. I also like the drama of "Fox and Goat". A strong range of thinking and final art here, Richard.
